One Dead, 5 Vehicles Burnt During President Jonathan's Campaign In Kano

Political thugs alleged to belong to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed during PDP’s campaign rally in Kano, on Wednesday,while one was reportedly killed and five vehicles burnt.

According to an eyewitness, the incident occured between 11.00a.m and 12 noon along Hotorro area of the state,when President Goodluck Jonathan was addressingsupporters of the party at the Polo ground.

The source, who preferred anonymity, while speaking with newsmen, said the political thugs attacked one another on their way to the campaign venue.

Confirming the report, the image maker of Kano State police command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia,said one person died while five vehicles were burnt.

ASP Majia further disclosed that the police were investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the attack.

He added that President Jonathan was at the rally addressing the party supporters when the incident happened.
