Christian Leaders Kidnapped In Kaduna State, Abductors Demand N100m Ransom

SaharaReporters recounts that some church leaders in Kaduna have been abducted, a source at the headquarters of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abuja has confirmed to SaharaReporters.

Their kidnappers are demanding N100m for their release, said our source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he had no official clearance.

Those abducted are said to be the national president of HEKAN Church, Reverend Emmanuel Dziggau and his assistant, Anthony Iliya.  Also abducted on Monday evening, in an area called Dutse, on the outskirts of Kaduna town, is retired Pastor Yakubu Dzarma.

According to our source, Dziggau is the leader of ECWA/TEKAN block of CAN, and a very close ally of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the National President of CAN.

Pastor Oritsejafor is said to have summoned an emergency meeting of all church leaders in the country for Thursday in Abuja.

It was also gathered that anti-kidnapping security operatives have been drafted to Kaduna to help in rescuing the pastors.
