NSCDC Commandant Proffer Solutions To Rising Kidnapping Incidents in Nigeria

The new commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr. Tajudeen Ayobami Balogun, has listed ways to stem the tide of rising incidents of Kidnapping in Nigeria. Mr. Balogun gave these tips during a courtesy visit to The Guardian newspaper recently. He urged Nigerians to be vigilant.

Names of The Abducted 21 Chibok Girls Released By Boko Haram

The Nigerian government has released the names of 21 Chibok school girls released by Boko Haram on Thursday, October 13. It was gathered that the girls were released after a deal carried out by the Nigerian Department of State Security (DSS) and supported by the Swiss government with the Boko Haram insurgents. However, the federal government denied claims that the release of the 21 Chibok girls was a swap for some terrorists. Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, released the names late Thursday after the girls met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Details have emerged on the behind the scenes negotiations that led to the release of some of the abducted Chibok Girls. Daily Trust newspaper reports that Boko Haram has released 21 of the more than 200 kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls held since April 2014 in a prisoner swap deal with the Nigerian government, local sources said Thursday.
